Who We Are
Community Works Design Group (CWDG) was established in 1985 and provides municipal planning services throughout the State of California. The firm focuses on Park, Recreation, and Public Landscape projects. CWDG has a ready and available staff of nine professionals. We draw upon the collective experience of four Licensed Landscape Architects, a LEED Accredited Professional, an in-house ISA Certified Arborist, a Certified Irrigation Designer/Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor, a SITES Accredited Professional, and a Certified Access Specialist (CASp).
Scott Rice, ASLA, CASp, LEED

He doesn't like to brag but we don't mind doing it for him...Scott is 1 of the only 3 Landscape Architect's in California who is also a Certified Access Specialist, Allison on our team happens to be on of the other 3. He also has experience as a global skate park designer and has been with CWDG for 20 Years!
Allison Rush, ASLA
DIRECTOR OF
DESIGN + CREATIVITY
Allison is our team go-to for creating beautiful project plans and a cohesive vision for our firm and clients. She excels at understanding how best to configure and optimize outdoor spaces for the health and enjoyment of users of all ages and abilities. Allison also has a strong grasp of designing with various digital media techniques, including CAD, 3-d modeling and photo simulation.
Dan Burkhart, ASLA, ISA, sUAS
DIRECTOR OF
IMPLEMENTATION + VALUE
Dan is our firm's jack of all trades, master of constructability. From cost estimating to inspections, Dan does it all. He is also a Certified Arborist and FAA Drone Pilot. As a former Building Inspector Dan is our go to for when we have questions, he also serves our clients as a contract plan checker.

Analicia has experience as a designer, contractor, and public sector planner lending our firm a unique perspective when problem solving for our municipal clients. She is passionate about equity and inclusion and loves working on community based design work.
Luke Morris
LANDSCAPE DESIGNER + NATIVE PLANT SPECIALIST
Luke is our firm's native plant specialist and nursery liaison, ensuring every planting plan can be locally sourced by contractors. He loves skating and working on skate park designs.

Debra has an extensive background in planning and environmental planning. She has a passion for creating sustainable designs and integrating the latest green infrastructures and technologies.

Cindy has been with the firm since the beginning and helps our office run smoothly, from invoicing to HR she does it all.

Joshua lends our team a unique perspective as a passionate and committed Architecture student. He has designed multiple residential and commercial projects, each providing opportunities for creative problem solving and improving his overall sense of design.
